We are currently searching for a Principal Solutions Architect to join one of the world’s largest Aerospace & Defence organisations, ideally on a hybrid model (1 day a week on-site) in either Glasgow, Bristol, Portsmouth, or New Malden. Fully remote options are also available dependent on location.

What you’ll be doing:
* Leading a team of 2 SA’s.
* Defining the solution architecture and design for projects to meet business and system requirements.
* Providing technical design authority leadership, ensuring the solution architecture and design is as required and is communicated effectively.
* Provide design management and governance through the operation of change and configuration management activities.

Background required:
* Strong Solutions Architecture background, can be any focus i.e., Software, Applications, Systems, Infrastructure, Networking etc.
* Background in designing LLDs/HLDs
* Proven knowledge of Architecture frameworks such as TOGAF
* Understanding of software development lifecycle including methodologies such as Agile.

You will be joining their Air division and will get to work on cutting exciting programmes of work across things like Eurofighter Typhoons, Aircraft Simulators, and F35 Fighter Jets.

There is endless career development and progression pathways within this Software Engineering function looking to double in size over the next year from 300 to 600 Engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implementation, and testing.
  • Developing software solutions.
  • Testing completed functionality.
  • Adhering to project processes and software development practices.
  • Report on progress and provide feedback to team members.
  • Supporting and mentoring Junior Engineers through peer reviews etc.

  • C# and C++

Senior/Principal Asset Engineer

2 roles available –

  • Senior Asset Engineer -Pre-Operations
  • Principle Asset Engineer- Pre-Operations (Team Leading)

Location: Barrow-in-Furness – Hybrid

Salary: £38,734 – £43,000 with annual pay increase and incentives.

This is an early opportunity to join a new team with defence and maritime, tasked with integrating significant infrastructure expansion into the business, whilst individually being given the opportunity for professional growth within the Submarine function.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Scoping and delivering asset integration and pre-operational activities for major site and infrastructure projects
  • Development of integration strategies and through life management plans
  • Liaising with key stakeholders within the project and the end user teams
  • Support the integration of new assets and infrastructure into site business management systems
  • Implementing post-handover asset management arrangements
  • Maintaining production and validation of working level instructions
  • Support the development of operations, maintenance and asset management strategies

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Time served with engineering, maintenance, or operational experience.
  • An understanding of Asset Management principles
  • Experience in managing complex stakeholder relationships
  • Experience in delivering diverse scopes of work to challenging schedules
  • Experience in the production and validation of working level instruction
  • Experience working within, or exposure to asset integration, pre-operations, or project transition
